Granting our wishes!

Many people ask how they can support April Lodge. Of course, many are happy to give the charity a donation but often we are asked whether there is anything specific that they guinea pigs need, such as feed or bedding.

We are delighted to announce that we now have an Amazon Wishlist, meaning that you can now purchase items that you know the charity really needs. We have also explained why each item is needed:

Open Day 2014

Our 2014 Open Day, held on Sunday 3rd August, was a recod-breaker for the charity, with £2016 raised to help support April Lodge.

The Open Day included a guinea pig show, agility course, free nail clipping and welfare checks, ‘Cuddle Corner’, products available for purchase,  and refreshments for hungry people and piggies!

Thank you so much to everyone who came and supported us, and we look forward to seeing you all again next year!

The Open Day is coming! Our 10th annual Open Day and Fun Show. This year it is on site at April Lodge Guinea Pig Rescue, from 10am on Saturday 3rd August.

A host of advice and tips about helping your guinea pigs to cope with the summer weather, from avoiding bloat and flystrike, to coping with heat exhaustion.

Our next mission: following the success of the campaign to raise money for our new shelter, our next challenge is to raise money to replace the secondary building, a refurbished garage which will soon reach the end of its useful life. Watch this space for further updates!
