Latest updates
April Lodge Guinea Pig Rescue was established in 2004 and we have cared for over 2000 unwanted guinea pigs. We’re proud to say that over 1500 of these went on to be adopted and over 100 went into foster care. We endeavour to find our guinea pigs kind, loving, permanent homes following a poor start in life.

Adoption procedure
Potential adopters must complete an online adoption form and meet all the criteria, the main points being:
- You must live in the South East Kent area.
- Your guinea pig enclosure must be located indoors, be secure, and at least 8 sq ft (ie 4’x2′) in size.
- We expect parents to take full responsibility for their care as children usually lose interest (note that guinea pigs can live up to 7 years or longer).
Please do not apply to adopt if our criteria can’t be met. If you do not meet the criteria or are out of our area we will be unable to respond. We also can’t conduct video or zoom home checks and will only be able to proceed if we have an available home visitor in your area.
